Introducing Door + Window Systems
With a proud nod to Design Window’s nationwide longevity and 35-year heritage, our Auckland division enters a new era as Door + Window Systems.
Enjoying a solid reputation and long-term industry connections, our award-winning Design Windows team has a respected past. But we’ve faced challenges, too. We see both these successes and setbacks as an opportunity for us and our industry. Door + Window Systems is a new beginning for our Auckland branch and we’re ready to take on the future.
And what does this future look like?
Sophisticated apartment complexes, office towers, hotels, restaurants and internationally renowned retail stores continue to transform Auckland’s built environment. Pinnacle projects like Commercial Bay, Wynyard Quarter and Hobsonville Point revitalise our waterfront with a blend of high-end commercial and residential projects.
In the decade ahead, we recognise the incredible opportunity this offers the construction industry. Door + Window Systems are here to play an integral role in Auckland’s transformation.
Harbourside, beachside, forest and bush, the right doors, windows and glazing embrace their setting, the functionality of a building, and provide comfort and elegance. Door + Window Systems will design, manufacture and install bespoke joinery and glazing that celebrates Auckland’s unique urban and rural landscapes. Continuing our core business of windows and doors, Door + Window Systems will also push the boundaries of aluminium and glass – delivering contemporary fit-outs, striking facades for predominantly commercial & architectural projects.
A structural necessity, doors and windows are a vital part of any building. The right joinery and glazing draws you in and creates a thermally efficient and future-proofed building. That’s why our team contribute to the whole construction process including pre-planning, selecting the right products, cutting and assembling aluminium, and installation. Throughout the process, we are available to brainstorm and problem-solve with clients, architects and builders, ensuring there are minimal issues, and our installed products are high-performing and visually appealing.
Our people, which include site-managers, office staff, installers, apprentices, machinery operators and designers, are our greatest asset and promise. Recognising today’s pressures and the risks of burnout in the construction industry, we are serious about our staff’s mental and physical wellbeing. By looking after and investing in our people, we both increase our in-house capabilities and foster a winning, supportive culture. With this culture, we will attract and keep the best people and emphasise the value of authentic support, training and continuous improvement.
If joinery and glazing aren’t delivered on time, a building is not weathertight and construction grinds to a costly halt. By relentlessly improving our processes, technology, and people, Door + Window Systems can become more efficient, knowledgeable and creative. As a result, we can not only accomplish innovative ideas but also reduce our lead times, so construction can progress to the next phase, without compromising the integrity of our products and service.
Door + Window Systems will continue to develop partnerships in the construction industry, forging productive relationships between architects, clients and builders who all work together with a shared aim to create outstanding homes, apartments and commercial buildings.
Auckland’s confidently stepping into its personality as an exciting and contemporary destination for locals and global visitors alike, as well as a commercial and cultural hub. And we want to play a part in that future. We are on the lookout for landmark commercial projects, out-of-the-frame concepts and architecturally designed homes that demand glazing and joinery excellence.
